An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new Credit and Collections manager at, global media company, Future PLC.
This role plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the financial health of our organisation, by overseeing the entire credit granting process and ensuring timely payment collections. Leading a dedicated team of credit control and collection specialists, they will be expected to foster a collaborative, results-driven environment, driving the Accounts Receivable team to exceed performance targets and deliver exceptional results.
What you'll be doing...
This dynamic leader assesses the creditworthiness of potential and existing customers, sets and monitors credit limits, and develops robust credit and collection policies to mitigate risks and optimise cash flow. Managing a team of 15 and working closely with the wider finance team and the sales and commercial teams in both the UK and the US, the successful candidate will be expected to report and escalate to senior management regularly.
You'll be responsible for:
Credit Management:
1. Develop and implement forward-thinking credit policies and procedures.
2. Swiftly evaluate and approve credit applications, ensuring agile decision-making.
3. Set and adapt credit limits and terms in response to market conditions.
4. Work in collaboration with the credit insurance
5. Monitor customer accounts proactively to manage and mitigate credit risk effectively.
Collections Management:
6. Oversee a dynamic collections process, ensuring rapid and efficient recovery of receivables.
7. Develop and implement innovative strategies to reduce delinquent accounts.
8. Coordinate seamlessly with sales and customer service teams to resolve billing disputes.
9. Prepare and present insightful reports on collections performance, leveraging data analytics.
10. Maintain and enhance positive customer relationships with a focus on exceptional service.
11. Address and resolve customer inquiries and complaints swiftly and effectively.
12. Negotiate payment plans and settlements with agility and flexibility.
Leadership
13. Work closely with team members to support project goals and company objectives.
14. Facilitate team meetings and collaborative sessions to enhance team cohesion.
15. Assist in the recruitment process by conducting interviews and assessing candidates' interpersonal skills.
16. Identify training needs and develop programs to enhance employee skills.
17. Mentor and coach employees to improve performance and career development.
Reporting and Analysis:
18. Generate regular reports on credit and collections activities.
19. Analyse credit and collection data to identify trends and areas for strategic improvement.
20. Present findings and proactive recommendations to senior management.
Experience that'll put you ahead of the curve...
21. Ideally at least 3 years of experience in managing a busy Credit Control, Accounts Receivable, or Collections team
22. Good technical skills that include Excel, reporting writing, and dashboard creation
23. Preferably a qualificaltion from the Chartered Institute of Credit Management (CICM)
24. An excellent communicator
25. Demonstration of commercial awareness
26. Passion for developing people
