Job role: Disability Teaching Assistant
Pay rate: £85 - £95 per day
Location: Birmingham
Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting an experienced teaching assistant to work at our partnered school in Small Heath, Birmingham. The position is physically demanding, helping children navigate their way around the school grounds due to physical and mental disabilities. The ideal candidate will hold a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification and have ample experience working with children or adults with physical or mental disabilities.
The partnered school has its own SEN building in which the ideal candidate would be situated; however, to meet the needs of the students, you will be required to walk around the school grounds for the majority of the school day.
The ideal candidate:
1. Holds a Level 2 / 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
2. Has at least 1 year experience working within schools in the UK (primary, secondary or SEN).
3. Is kind and considerate and physically fit due to the nature of the role.
4. Has a minimum of 5 GCSEs.
5. Previous experience supporting SEND children on a small group or 1:1 basis.
6. Has a passion for education and supporting pupils in their learning and development.
The job role:
1. Supporting the SENCO within the SEN building.
2. Communicating effectively with classroom teachers, pupils, wider staff members, and parents/carers.
3. Upholding the safeguarding principles of the school and Teaching Personnel.
4. Adhering to the school's policies and procedures.
5. Physically helping children navigate their way through the school.
6. Supporting the transportation of students to and from their lessons.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
