About the role:
As a Finance Assistant, you’ll play a key role in our end of cruise reconciliation and profit share reporting to our cruise line partners, including setting up reconciliations and checking/verifying data. You’ll also provide additional support to the wider FP&A team as required with reconciliation of internal systems and external reports.
Based in our Bristol office on a hybrid basis, you’ll work from the Avonmouth office 2 days a week. This role is available as a part time opportunity (4 days/week) with potential also for flexible hours.
Compensation – competitive salary, bonus scheme, pension, 4 x life assurance, health cash plan, 25 days leave annually (including Christmas shutdown).
What you’ll be doing:
The Finance Assistant role has two core areas of responsibility:
End of Cruise Reconciliations
1. Shared responsibility of a busy outlook inbox
2. Data matching between internal systems and external reports
3. Posting sales/purchases journals for expenses and other costs
4. Identifying discrepancies in sales and commission data
5. Variance analysis and problem solving for causes of differences
6. Communicating clearly with other departments where action is needed from them
Profit Share Reporting
7. Assisting with the preparation of quarterly profit share reconciliations for cruise lines operating under profit share agreements
8. Populating Excel templates with updated cruise data from various sources
9. Identifying discrepancies in the data and correcting as required
10. Resolving cruise line queries in a timely manner
11. Assisting with external audit of costs by cruise line partners including collation of samples and additional data as required
About you:
12. Experience in similar/relevant financial role
13. Moderate to advanced Excel skills; comfortable with handling large data sets
14. Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
15. Ability to confidently communicate with internal and external partners
16. Able to identify how we can be doing things better or adding more value
17. Efficient and comfortable working through high volume repetitive tasks
18. Must have an existing right of eligibility to work in the UK
