Great opportunity to work as an Ancillary Operative for our client- A global food company serving international retailers and food service household names with prime cuts of meat, on-trend food concepts, and ready-for-market convenience foods.
Staffline is recruiting Ancillary Operatives in Bodmin.
The rate of pay is £ per hour.
This is a full-time role working fixed shifts, Monday to Friday, the hours of work start at 6am until the job is finished.
Your Time at Work
As an Ancillary Operative, you will be working in slaughtering, performing precision functions involving the preparation of meat. Work may include specialised slaughtering tasks, and cutting standard or premium cuts of meat for marketing. The slaughter and preparation of animals for human consumption.
Role Requirements:
- Cut, trim, skin, sort, and wash viscera of slaughtered animals to separate edible portions from offal.
- Clean materials to prepare them for production.
- Process animal carcasses.
- Slit open, eviscerate, and trim carcasses of slaughtered animals.
- Remove bones and cut meat into standard cuts in preparation for marketing.
- Sever jugular veins to drain blood and facilitate slaughtering.
- Trim, clean, or cure animal hides.
- Skin sections of animals or whole animals.
- Shackle the hind legs of animals to raise them for slaughtering or skinning.
- Trim head meat and sever or remove parts of animals' heads or skulls.
- Prepare meat products for sale or consumption.
- Stun animals prior to slaughtering.
- Wrap dressed carcasses or meat cuts.
- Trunk Strength - The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without 'giving out' or fatiguing.
- Control Precision - The ability to adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle quickly and repeatedly to exact positions.
- Arm-Hand Steadiness - The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
- Finger Dexterity - The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, and manipulate.
- Manual Dexterity - The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, and manipulate objects.
- Handling and Moving heavy, large loads, using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
- Performing General Physical Activities - Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
- Inspecting Equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects and report them.
- Adhering to health and safety policies and procedures.
- Report any risks or any evidence of unsafe or out-of-specification products, equipment, packaging, or raw materials, to a designated manager to enable the resolution of issues requiring immediate action.

Experience in a similar role is desirable, but not essential as full training is provided.
