Job Title: GP Practice Pharmacy Technician

Hourly Rate: £18 - £26 per hour (dependent on experience)
About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our clients friendly and supportive team within a busy GP Practice in Birmingham. As a key member of the healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medication for our patients.
This is a full-time, Monday to Friday position, with working hours from 9:00am to 5:00pm, including a 30-minute lunch break. You will have the opportunity to work closely with GPs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, providing medication-related advice and support to both patients and the practice team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Dispense prescriptions and ensure accuracy in the preparation of medicines.
2. Provide medication-related advice to patients, helping them to understand their medications and how to use them correctly.
3. Undertake medicine reviews and assist with repeat prescription processes.
4. Work closely with GPs and other healthcare professionals in the management of long-term conditions.
5. Assist in the implementation and management of the practice's medication policies and protocols.
6. Monitor stock levels and manage the ordering, storage, and safe disposal of medicines.
7. Participate in audits and contribute to continuous improvement of pharmacy services.
8. Help with the development and delivery of medication education for patients and staff.
Requirements:
1. Qualified Pharmacy Technician (GPhC registered).
2. Previous experience working as a Pharmacy Technician within a GP practice or community pharmacy is highly desirable.
3. Strong knowledge of prescription medications, NHS guidelines, and medication management.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
5. Good organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively in a busy environment.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and patient-focused approach.
