The Opportunity:
To contribute to the programme of world-leading research in the Simons Initiative for the Developing brain, using whole cell patch clamp electrophysiological assessment of rat models of ASD/ID as well as in vivo expression of viral vectors to determine cell-type specific functional properties.
This post is full-time (35 hours per week); however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns.
The salary for this post is£40,247 to £47,874per annum.
Your skills and attributes for success:
1. A PhD in Neuroscience or related discipline
2. Expertise in relevant approaches and models, analytical techniques and methods.
3. Expertise in single-cell electrophysiology (whole-cell patch-clamp) in rodent brain slices
4. Excellence performing and analysing in vitro and in vivo physiology experiments in rodents to investigate the cortex or hippocampus.
5. Experience in performing intracranial stereotaxic injections in adolescent rats.
