Teaching Assistant
Are you a Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant looking for a new challenge in a SEMH Primary School in Rossendale?
Tradewind are currently working in a partnership with a SEMH Primary School in the Rossendale area to recruit an experienced Teaching Assistant with strong behaviour management to start with them on a full-time basis from as soon as possible - July 2024 5 days a week with the view of contract.
This SEMH Primary School caters for Primary aged students. You shall be required to work closely on a 1-2-1 pupil within Year 3. The pupil you will be supporting has behaviour difficulties.
The school are looking for someone who can be firm but fair, positive, and encouraging to the pupil as well as having a nurture approach.
We are looking for:
1. An experienced Teaching Assistant with a Level 3 qualification (NVQ or equivalent) in Supporting Teaching and Learning.
2. Recent experience in a similar setting.
3. Dedication to making a positive impact with all students.
4. Knowledge and understanding of working with pupils that have EHC Plans and Social and Emotional Behaviour Difficulties.
5. MAPA Trained desirable
As per Department for Education (DfE) guidelines you will need to be able to provide full identification copies and reference details from the relevant experience you have previously gained in this or a similar setting.
This SEMH Primary School is based in Rossendale and is close to motorway links, additionally if you are travelling by public transport there is a bus stop outside the school.
Essentials:
6. Level 3 qualification (NVQ or equivalent) in Supporting Teaching and Learning
7. Previous experience working with challenging behaviours
8. Good use of de-escalation strategies (you will be asked for an example at interview)
9. This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks.
10. Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained.
11. You must have the legal right to work in the UK.
