Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for an acting-up Band 6 transport Manager role at Surrey and Sussex Health care NHS Trust. Please see attached JD and personal specifications for the role. We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and highly flexible individual to undertake a Transport Manager role based at our East Surrey Depot at Redhill.
Hours of this post will vary to meet the urgent demands of the business, but the normal working week is 15 hrs as part of a job share with the current incumbent. Supporting the Head of Transport, the responsibilities of the successful applicant will include managing a team of drivers and lead driver. Being responsible for the provision of effective, high quality training to BSPS Transport to ensure compliance with legal and hospital employer requirements.
The successful applicant will also play a full part in the operational management of the department as a member of the transport management team and cover runs as required. Liaison with other departments and service users will be an important part of the role.
You should be reliable, have a responsible and flexible attitude with good organisational and computer skills, and be resourceful, honest, with the commitment and ability to work on your own or as part of the team. You must have a full clean driving licence. The Trust operates a No Smoking policy on all sites and premises which includes work vehicles.
