Supervised Contact Worker
Location: Various venues across the London Borough of Bromley
Pay: £16 per hour (umbrella) (£13.49 PAYE an hour)
Contract Length: 3 months initially
Working Hours: Full Time, 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 10am to 6pm
Bromley Council is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Supervised Contact Worker to join our Children's Contact Centre Service on a 3-month contract. This role involves observing and supervising contact between children and family members or friends, supporting safe and meaningful connections. You will be based at various venues within the London Borough of Bromley, including our Children's Contact Centres, Children and Family Centres, local community settings, and occasionally in family homes.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and observe contact between children and their family members or friends, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the child at all times.
Record detailed, factual observations of contact, accurately identifying both strengths and potential risks.
Intervene where necessary to reduce or remove any harm or abuse, ensuring the protection of children.
Maintain accurate records and report writing in compliance with safeguarding procedures.
Work collaboratively with other professionals and ensure compliance with Bromley Council's child protection policies and procedures.Essential Skills & Experience:
Strong report writing skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
Knowledge and understanding of child development, family dynamics, and safeguarding issues.
Awareness of potential risks in family interactions, with the ability to assess and intervene appropriately.
Proficiency in using MS Office and databases, with a high level of accuracy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.Additional Information:
Centres are open from 10am to 6pm Monday to Friday, and 9am to 5pm on weekends.
