The Role:
You will provide leadership and support for a team of direct reports in the warehouse on a day-to-day basis and establish yourself as a key player in the wider Operational Management team. You will be expected to plan, delegate, and monitor the workload across all warehouse functions within your area in order to meet the required operational service level across a range of customers in a safe and efficient manner.
You can demonstrate strong leadership skills to drive forward positive changes in the company culture, team performance and operational processes, to be an advocate of the Knowles Health & Safety culture and ensure compliance of processes at all times. Some of what is required is shown below, however this list not exhaustive.
Candidate must have:
1. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Warehouse environment
2. Experience with using WMS systems
3. Ability to multi‐task and work in a fast paced environment
4. Be self-sufficient, able to work on own initiative and to tight deadlines
5. Good time keeping, highly organised and be adaptable to change
6. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
7. Solid understanding of relevant Health & Safety practices
8. Excellent numerical skills with high accuracy and attention to detail
9. Be competent with Microsoft Excel and Word
Key accountabilities:
10. Have excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with customers, peers, subordinates and managers
11. Be confident and approachable to all internal and external customers
12. Respond to all customer emails and phone calls in a helpful, positive and professional manner
13. Ensure all operational issues are escalated as required
14. Provide accurate end of shift updates to the Area Manager for handover purposes in
15. Have excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with customers, peers, subordinates and managers
16. Be confident and approachable to all internal and external customers
17. Respond to all customer emails and phone calls in a helpful, positive and professional manner
18. Ensure all operational issues are escalated as required
19. Provide accurate end of shift updates to the area manager for handover purposes including what has been achieved and what is still outstanding
20. Utilise spare resource and equipment effectively by working with other supervisors
21. Demonstrate the correct behaviours and lead by example in all areas of your work
22. Support new starters into the business by offering guidance, training and support
23. Manage and support any short or long term absences from the team including monitoring, return to work interviews and follow up action as required
24. Manage any conduct and performance issues from the team with counselling, training or retraining, performance improvement plans and disciplinary action as required
