Come and join us as a Lead Wind Turbine Technician in our Asset Operations Business Area.An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Wind Turbine Technician to join our Scotland South Team.We are looking for experienced Wind Turbine Technicians, ideally with knowledge of in any of the following, Vestas Wind, Senvion & GE Wind turbines, to join us during a period of growth. What you’ll be doing. Reporting to your Area Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operation of our largest onshore wind farm. You will be expected to deliver scheduled and unscheduled maintenance services in accordance with manufacturers guidelines. Your role will include; Supervising & Leading the Operational Team of wind turbine technicians, Conduct daily toolbox talks.Schedule service in accordance with manufacturer’s guidelinesPlanning of and reporting on maintenance activitiesManaging spare part and consumable stockFault-finding, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair on all turbine systems, which will include mechanical, electrical and hydraulic assemblies and major componentsProactive repair or component replacement to prevent complete failure or system downtimeSupervising specialist and subcontractor activity during main component exchangeComplying with all health and safety requirements including the Wind Turbine Safety Rules (WTSR) Providing out of hours and weekend response & Support to site breakdownsProvide support to site project works (Civils, High Voltage (HV), Turbine) Ensuring the highest level of turbine availabilityUndertake delegated Area Manager duties when required to support site activities. What do you need to be great at this role? We are looking for a strong safety-minded person with excellent analytical thinking and self-motivated. This role requires a strong sense of planning and organisation and an ability to communicate and pass on technical knowledge. Equally important is a genuine enjoyment and enthusiasm for working in this field.You must have a full, clean UK Driving Licence and lives within a commutable distance of our Livingston Service Centre. EH54 9BU.The Skills Qualification in electrical and/or mechanical disciplines to NVQ3 level (or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience). Knowledge of Vestas, GE & Senvion turbine platforms would be an advantage.Excellent analytical skillsHigh level of physical fitness and good health.Ability to work at height and in adverse weather conditions.Excellent understanding of health and safety.Previous accreditation as AT/AE under the WTSR.Highly self-motivated, flexible and enthusiastic approach to working in a small team.Good level of computer literacy.
