Electrical Installation Manager - Construction Machinery Manufacturer
Objective:
The Electrical Installation Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the project management of machinery installations across the world for our construction machinery manufacturing company. This position requires strong electrical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to lead a team of installation engineers. The Electrical Installation Team Leader is responsible for ensuring the successful commissioning and decommissioning of machinery, managing RAMs (Risk Assessment and Method Statements), coordinating installation engineers and subcontractors, planning diaries and vehicle management.
Key Responsibilities:
* Project Management: Oversee and manage the installation projects of machinery across various locations worldwide, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
* Electrical Expertise: Utilise strong electrical knowledge and expertise to guide and support the installation engineers during machinery installation, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry best practices.
* Commissioning and Decommissioning: Coordinate and oversee the commissioning and decommissioning processes of machinery, ensuring proper functionality and compliance with relevant standards.
* RAMs Management: Develop and implement Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMs) for installation projects, ensuring a safe working environment and minimising potential hazards.
* Team Supervision: Lead and manage a team of installation engineers, providing guidance, technical support, and training as needed. Monitor their performance and allocate resources effectively to maximise productivity.
* Subcontractor Management: Collaborate with subcontractors involved in installation projects, managing their work, providing necessary instructions, and ensuring adherence to project requirements.
* Planning and Diary Management: Plan and schedule installation activities, coordinating with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure efficient operation and timely project completion. Manage the diaries and vehicle allocation of installation engineers.
* Quality Control: Implement quality control measures to ensure the machinery installations meet or exceed customer expectations, industry standards, and company guidelines.
* Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records and documentation of installation activities, including reports, project updates, and client communication.
* Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost optimisation, and enhanced efficiency in machinery installation processes. Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to implement necessary changes.
Requirements:
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
* Relevant certifications and experience will also be considered.
* Extensive experience in electrical installation, preferably in the construction machinery or a related industry.
* Proven track record in project management, with the ability to manage multiple installation projects simultaneously.
* Strong technical knowledge and understanding of electrical systems and machinery installation processes.
* Proficient in conducting Risk Assessments and developing Method Statements.
* Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively lead and motivate a team.
* Ability to plan and prioritise tasks, allocate resources, and manage time effectively.
* Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients.
* Familiarity with health and safety regulations and compliance requirements within the construction machinery industry.
* Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required for project site visits and coordination.
