Coppice Café is a friendly, dynamic, growing community café with some great opportunities for the right people. We’re looking for new casual members and are in search of people as passionate and dedicated as we are to provide great service and food in a great space.
Your Role!
Working as part of the catering team in the Café at Beacon Country Park, your duties will include:
1. Preparing and serving food and drinks, in accordance with allergen and special dietary needs, using standard kitchen equipment including the fryer, grill, hotplate and coffee machine.
2. Serving customers at the cash register using the card payment machine and cash.
3. Complying with food safety standards and undertaking record checks including storage, food temperature checks, stock rotation, date checking, labelling and disposal of food waste.
4. Cleaning of all kitchen and hospitality areas including equipment, crockery, and utensils, and disposing of rubbish.
5. Carry out all opening and closing checks for the café.
6. Check stock and update supervisor of supplies needed to be ordered.
7. Assist with event and hospitality enquiries including setting up and assembling equipment for meetings, events, and fayres.
8. Assist with training new employees and undertaking further training as required.
9. The normal opening hours of the café are Monday to Sunday 09.45 am to 5pm but can be longer or shorter depending on the season. There are also functions at evenings and weekends.
About You!
10. Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, NVQ Level 2 and successful competition of a Food Allergen Awareness Course. If you do not have these qualification, training can be provided for the successful applicant.
11. Experience of food and drink preparation using commercial catering equipment.
12. Ability to undertake food safety checks and record the findings.
The ability to deliver exceptional cleaning and 5*customer service.
13. A confident, friendly, and caring personality.
14. Good communication skills.
15. Be positive, flexible and adaptable.
16. Impeccable standards of personal presentation.
17. Be able to work as a team member and individually.
18. Be responsible for maintaining hygiene and follow health and safety procedures.
19. To be punctual, responsible and have a flexible approach to the work at hand.
20. Having reliable transport to Beacon Country Park is essential.
Casual work is provided on an ad hoc basis and there is no obligation to provide work, or for you to agree to undertake work if it is offered.
Payment will only be made for the hours that are worked.
Experience:
21. Previous experience is preferred but not essential as a training package will be provided.
22. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
23. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
