ABOUT THE ROLE
Due to my client continuing to grow they are now looking for a Bid Manager to join their Pre-Construction team. The projects that you will be involved in will be working on the multi utility and rail works, working on Thames Water, UKPN and Rail infrastructure projects. You will be working on the power side of the business looking after a long term contract for SSWE where types of works includes substations and cable routes. I personally know a few people who have started in junior positions and have made their way up to senior roles and they still love working for this company.
On top of the Bid Management activities my client is looking someone who can assist in the compilation of pricing clarifications for inclusion with tender submission. You must have had experience working for a well-known utility contractor or rail contractor. The successful candidate will also be involved in planning activities to go in line with the tender and contract requirements, liaise with management and engineers to review the progress of construction projects and address issues.
The role will be based in their head office in their head office in Borehamwood but can also be based out of the office in Slough and will also include site visits into London.
REQUIREMENTS
You’ll be required to have a good standard of education preferably to Foundation Degree level (HND,HNC) in a Construction, Civils, Business of equivalent qualification.
It’s important to have experience working within civil engineering as a Bid Manager or an Estimator and to show good long-term stability at the companies you have worked for (1-3 years per company you’ve worked for).
You’ll also need a full UK driver’s license to allow to get from the office to the construction site and to other locations you might require to visit.
