We are looking for a dedicated, experienced Science Teacher to join our friendly and supportive team.
OEA Education is a small independent school located in Sandown which has already built an excellent reputation for working with vulnerable students with ASD, attachment difficulties and social, emotional and mental health needs.
Extremely small class sizes and high staff ratios allow us to provide highly bespoke and individualised educational provision to our students with additional support provided from our therapy and mental health teams.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a relatively new SEN school and be part of its journey as we develop our SEN provision for students on the Isle of Wight.

The successful candidate will:
1. Plan and deliver lessons whilst following the national curriculum.
2. Have a desire to work in an SEN setting
3. Be approachable, flexible and adaptable, with a desire to make a difference in our students lives.
4. Have the capability for supporting children with social and emotional behavioural needs within an educational environment.
5. Possess effective communication and relationship building skills.
6. Be passionate about providing quality education care and support to young people.
7. To intervene physically with our students, when required, using Team Teach trained techniques when de-escalation strategies have failed (full training will be provided).
8. Demonstrate analytical thinking to improve the quality of pupils' learning.
9. Build team commitment with colleagues and in the classroom engage and motivate pupils.
Qualifications and requirements:
10. QTS or equivalent required.
11. Proven teaching experience.
12. Desire to work in an SEN setting.
13. Effective communication skills and build good relationships.
14. Flexible and adaptable.
15. Full UK driving licence – desirable
