Learning Support Assistant
Are you an experienced Learning Support Assistant looking for work in Wigan from September?
A one-form entry Primary School in the Tyldesley area of Wigan is looking for a Learning Support Assistant to work full time 8.30-3.30 Monday to Friday, with daily pay rates £85-£90. This role is to work 32.5 hours per week from September working for the full academic year.
This school is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join their supportive KS2 team, within school there is a sense of togetherness and unity. This role is to work with 1:1 with a child within a Year 4 class. Your role will be to support a child with Autism (ASD) on a 1:1, the child benefits greatly from a calm and consistent approach supported by visual timetables, now and next provisions, sensory breaks and pictorial cues. The child receives a completely personalised curriculum whiles including her in the ethos and learning of the class. Developing communication skills will be key to the role. The child has a EHCP which is implemented alongside advice from the speech and language specialist.
To join us and be successful in this role you will need to:
1. Qualified to NVQ level 2 qualification (or equivalent) or higher
2. Experience of working with SEND
3. Experience of the National Curriculum
4. Knowledge of the intervention strategies
5. Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
6. CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
7. Legal right to work in the UK
