Teesside Project Officer
Open Country are recruiting for a Teesside Project Officer.
Based in Middlesbrough. Two-year fixed-term contract.
23 days annual leave (rising to 28 days after five years) plus public holidays.
Open Country is an inspirational Yorkshire-based charity with operational Hubs in Harrogate and Wakefield. We seek to enable people with a disability to access and enjoy the countryside through an exciting programme of countryside activities and the provision of access information and advice.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day running of our new third Hub in Middlesbrough, including eventual line management responsibility. You would work at the heart of this dynamic charity, within a small, professional, and above all, friendly team.
There will be certain events or activities which will require you to work at weekends or evenings. A full driving licence is essential.
The successful candidate will require previous experience in a countryside role. They should be inspiring, self-reliant, and resilient and have excellent verbal, written, social media, and people skills.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Day-to-day running and development of the Middlesbrough Hub.
2. Line management responsibilities for Middlesbrough Hub staff.
3. Co-ordinate Middlesbrough Hub volunteer recruitment, training, and resourcing.
4. Publicise and promote the Middlesbrough Hub. Liaise with stakeholders.
5. In partnership with the Open Country fundraising team, work to ensure the long-term future of the Hub through contributing to fundraising.
6. Produce an interesting and enjoyable programme of Countryside Activities.
7. Co-ordinate and lead at least two weekday activities per week.
8. Lead up to two weekend activities each month.
9. Undertake general Middlesbrough Hub administrative tasks.
10. Undertake training as required.
11. Abide by all our policies, paying particular attention to Health & Safety.
12. Undertake whatever duties are allocated by the Trustees and Chief Officer, to ensure that Open Country offers a high-quality and caring service at all times.
