We have a strongManagement & Administration Team and we are looking for the right candidateto fill a position recently vacated.
The role ofReceptionist has expanded in recent years and the Practice is utilising newsoftware to manage patient demands and expectations. We use the EMIS clinicalsystem, as well as accurx.
We are looking forindividuals with customer service skills and the ability to adapt to change. Weare a happy team and wish to build a great team of staff all working for eachother and our patients.
Main duties of the job
Recent provenReception experience, preferably in a GP setting.
Must have excellentpeople skills and understand the importance of good customer care.
Excellent telephoneskills.
Excellent spokenand written English
Good literacy andIT skills are essential as the majority of work will involve inputting dataonto the computer. Knowledge of the EMIS medical software system.
Ability to multitask and prioritise own work load.
Committed andpositive individual with excellent communication skills.
Flexibility isessential as from time to time you may be required to cover holidays or otherabsence.
Convey a mature andempathetic nature, and have a friendly can do attitude.

The Practice iscomprised of General Practitioners (Partner and Salaried GPs), Nurses, Linkworker, FCP and attached PCN Pharmacists.
We are looking for an experienced Receptionist who is able to in additional to their core hours cover staff absences and holidays. Is able to work ontheir own initiative, as a member of a close team and 'go the extra mile', whenneeded.
You need to developgreat relationships with the Patients and show empathy and have the ability tolisten to their concerns.

Job responsibilities
To provide a pointof contact for Patients and act as a focal point of communication betweenPatients and the Practice Team along with administration duties as and whenrequested.
Receive, assist anddirect patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professionalin a courteous, efficient and effective way.
Provide generalassistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image topatients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
Ensure an effectiveand efficient reception service is provided to patients and any other visitorsto the practice.
Deal with allgeneral enquiries, explain procedures and make new and follow-up appointments.
Using your ownjudgment and communication skills ensure that patients with no priorappointment but who need urgent consultation are seen in a logical andnon-disruptive manner.
Explain practicearrangements and formal requirements to new patients and those seeking temporarycover and ensure procedures are completed.
Receive and maketelephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracyof detail and prompt appropriate delivery.
Enter requests, accurxtriage, from Patients, for those who do not have access to the internet.
Action repeatprescription requests when required and ensure that they are ready forcollection by the patient within 48 hours, either on the computer or manually.
Prepare lists andnotes for all surgeries and clinics held, ensuring completion of all associatedpaperwork.
Advise patients ofrelevant charges for private (non-General Medical Services) services, acceptpayment and issue receipts for same.
Enter patientinformation on to the computer as required.
Patient notes and correspondence:
Retrieve andre-file records as required, ensuring strict alphabetical order is adhered to.
Ensurecorrespondence, reports, results etc. are filed promptly and in the correctrecords, ensuring that all recent correspondence is available when patients areseen.
Ensure records arefiled correctly, kept in good repair with all necessary information on theoutside cover clearly visible.
