Job Title: Head of Housing
Location: Flexible Hybrid Working role - WFH and North Northamptonshire Office
Rate of Pay: Negotiable

Opus People Solutions are working with North Northamptonshire Council to recruit for a Head of Housing.
Main Accountabilities
Lead on the development of and drive the delivery of a plan that will ensure NNC are regulator ready (pending inspection by the Regulator of Social Housing).
Develop and drive the delivery of coherent service improvement plans; working with the AD Housing to present progress against these plans to the Improvement Board and Executive members.
Develop the council's Housing Revenue Account 30-year business plan.
Develop and drive the HRA capital programmes to deliver stock and estate improvement at pace; to significantly improve the profile of homes that meet decent homes standards requirements and impact positively on the experience of our tenants.
To support the development and delivery of a restructure and future operating model for the Housing Team.
Engage and build effective working relationships with senior political and managerial leaders to foster a positive and productive interface between Members, senior leads, and officers across the council.
Drive transformational change, fostering and leading a culture of continuous improvement that reflects the values of the Council and encourages creativity and commercial acumen within a public service ethos.
Work with, advise and support elected Members alongside the AD Housing in formulating appropriate strategies and plans to service improvements deliver modern, efficient and effective services.Person Specification
Demonstrable successful track record as working at Head of Service level in a busy Housing team; preferably within a local authority setting
Proven track record of successfully supporting and an organisation through a regulatory inspection resulting in positive outcomes
Experience of leading legal and democratic services.
Proven experience of developing and implementing service improvement plans in the social housing sector.
Excellent current working knowledge and understanding of local government law, practice and statutory requirements.
Thorough understanding of the current issues and future challenges facing the social housing sector and the impact of this across a range of local government services
Demonstrable leadership skills - specifically the ability to 'take people' with you during change.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to engage a range of audiences and positively represent the Council.
Ability to see the big picture, interpret it and develop relevant strategies, plans and deliverables.
