Wardell Armstrong LLP is a successful multi-disciplinary consultancy with 13 offices across the UK, employing approximately 500 staff, including around 60 full time ecologists. Working together with our clients, we deliver solutions to challenging problems in Mining & Minerals, Infrastructure & Energy, and Property & Development.
The Opportunity:
To meet increased demand, we are looking to recruit a senior or principal ecologist into our Head Office in Stoke-on-Trent, where there is an established team of 12 ecologists.
In this exciting role you will:
* Manage and support the delivery of projects;
* Prepare project proposals;
* Mentor junior staff in the field;
* Lead protected species surveys;
* Compile, analyse, evaluate and interpret survey data;
* Design protected species mitigation and prepare mitigation licences;
* Produce and contribute to complex technical reports including Ecological Impact Assessments, Biodiversity Net Gain Assessments and others;
* Develop project/financial management skills;
* Be taught the necessary skills for you to advance your career in ecology.
As the successful candidate you will:
* Have four or more continuous years of experience within ecological consultancy;
* Hold a degree in ecology or a related discipline;
* Hold, or be eligible for, ‘associate member’ status, or higher, of CIEEM.
* Be able to work effectively as part of a team;
* A full UK driving licence.

· 1.5x pay for work carried out during unsocial hours (10pm – 6am);
