My client a leading company in their field are looking to recruit a Field Service Engineer or Field Service Technician to support their customers worldwide. You would carry out electronic service activities on Naval and Commercial ships and on shore based systems. If you have an OND/HNC level qualification in Electronics, enjoy variety and are physically fit then this could be the role you. Duties: Travel within the UK and to multiple overseas destinations on a regular basis sometimes at short notice, however most visits are short trips lasting no longer than 2 weeks. Carry out installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and acceptance tests. Ensure detailed service reports and expenses are completed for each activity on time. Communicate any information relating to technical issues seen in the field to management Whist in the office, support Customer Services Technical Helpdesk, by responding to Customers emails and when required the writing of Technical Advice Sheets. Work to all Health and Safety rules and regulations and complete training courses as required. On occasions be prepared to work in excess of the normal 37-hour week or anti-social hours whilst observing contractual obligations. Skills & Experience OND/HNC level qualification in an Electronics subject or similar preferable Experience in an Electronics servicing environment, preferably Marine orientated Proven track record in demonstrating knowledge of electronics in a ‘hands on’ discipline Excellent communication skills both technically and socially with the ability to interact at all levels within the organisation. Sound knowledge of computers including hardware, software and networking with the ability to use various software packages such as Microsoft Word and Excel Must be physically fit, able to walk long distances and able to work at hight climbing the equivalent of 10 flights of stairs, with a tool kit weighing up to 10 Kilos Must be able to work in tight spaces, needing to twist and manoeuvre your body Full clean driving licence Valid British passport preferable or EU passport with 5 years UK work experience Benefits: 25 days holiday plus bank holidays Hours of work are 8.30-4.30 Monday to Thursday and 8.30 to 4.00 Friday with ½ hour lunch Stakeholder pension scheme Life assurance Other benefits include: Employee Assistance Programme, Private Health, Childcare Vouchers and a Subsidised Restaurant
