To develop RNA regulation of a target gene as part of a European Consortium funded by a Horizon 2020 grant who are developing a computational and experimental pipeline to identify and validate an antiviral for a new emerging or re-emerging virus causing a human disease and ultimately identify at least one antiviral vaccine against a broad spectrum of potential emerging and re-emerging viruses as listed by the WHO. This position will draw on Professor Habib’s experience of RNA regulation.
You will be working in the Francis Fraser laboratory to find the most suitable gene for an anti-viral vaccine.
When the target gene has been identified you will need to assess its activity in vitro.
You will be expected to attend and participate in grant teleconferences
You will need to present your work as requested.

2. Good organisational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of the European consortium.
3. A great opportunity to be part of a world-class European project with European partners who are developing a vaccine that can be used in future pandemics
