The chemical processing team is responsible for several special processes across the site. It is an transformational time for the team, currently supporting the manufacture of two core types, whilst introducing several new processes on newly commissioned equipment.
You will report to the ME Section Lead but will work closely with Producibility, Design, Operations and Quality on a day-to-day basis.

What you will be doing:
With this exciting opportunity you will get a chance to be involved with the following:
1. You will be a key member of the chemical processing team, contributing towards business-critical tasks associated with the processes, covering both production support and new product introduction
2. You will be working within a Team of Four to solve emergent technical issues with focus on Quality, Cost & Deliver
3. You will be maintaining engineering technical governance through the entire MoM for your process area.
4. You will be working with the wider business to deliver NPI objectives.
5. You will have ability to manage and balance your load/capacity (resource management) to enable robust commitment and delivery.
6. You will be an advocate of the employee engagement programme and open to applying new approaches to improve engagement across all areas with which they interact.

To be successful in this role you will need to meet the following criteria:
7. Degree qualified, or equivalent, in an Engineering or Chemical related discipline.
8. Communication and stakeholder management skills with a strong positive attitude and willingness to learn
9. Technical experience within a manufacturing environment, ideally within a chemical processing area
10. Good understanding of process improvement tools, preferably Green belt qualified or higher
11. Working knowledge of key Manufacturing Engineering processes and tools
12. Experience of technical working within an operations environment
13. Knowledge of the Submarines Enterprise and Rolls-Royce’s role in delivering submarines to the Royal Navy is advantageous.

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place.
