A well-established, high-performing building services engineering consultancy with multiple offices across the UK. Operating as a partnership, this business keeps sustainability at the core of everything they do, with the aim of succeeding and portraying a socially responsible and ethical image. They have been in operation for over 50 years, maintaining client relationships through quality and consistency. They have a very healthy pipeline of work and are seeking an Associate Mechanical Engineer, with a view of becoming a Partner in the business within the next 4 years, to join their Edinburgh office. Role
You will lead the mechanical operations of the business, both from a project and people perspective as well as getting involved in fees, business development etc.
1. Ensuring an understanding of project briefs.
2. Leading and delivering the mechanical aspect of projects from concept to completion working under industry standards and regulations.
3. Providing technical guidance and expertise, supervision and mentoring of junior staff.
4. Representing the organisation at meetings with clients and contractors.
5. Site surveys, inspections and monitoring of site works.
6. Maintaining complete records and archives to company standards.
7. Adherence to all quality, environmental and governance processes.
Qualifications / Experience
8. Degree qualified, or equivalent qualification, in Building Services Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or related subjects.
9. Chartered Engineer with CIBSE or IET.
10. Proficient in energy reduction methods and approaches to decarbonising new and existing buildings.
11. Good level of computer literacy in a range of digital tools such as AutoCAD, Excel, IES, Revit is beneficial
12. Experience working in a design consultancy and/or experience of working within a contractor design environment is essential.
13. Have a detailed knowledge of appropriate technical standards.
