Technical Supervisor (Research)

We have an exciting opportunity to join the engineering division in the School of Architecture, Technology and Engineering. This will see you provide technical support and supervision to a range of research activities within the department. As a Technical Supervisor in research your current skills will be utilised to manufacture, assemble, install and machine bespoke components to various specifications as well as co-ordinating a small team of technicians. Training in all aspects of the role will be given but an enthusiasm for delivering a high-quality service to our staff and research projects is essential.
To be successful in this role you will have:
1. Experience in the field of automotive, mechanical assembly and/or electrical/electronic engineering.
2. Machine and mechanical assembly skills including the use of lathes and milling machines.
3. Some fabrication knowledge
4. Have a good understanding of Health and Safety.
5. Be self-motivated to work individually and able to contribute as part of a team.
6. Able to accurately communicate technical information to a range of audiences.
This permanent role is full time, 37 hours a week, with a generous paid 5 weeks starting annual leave entitlement in addition to bank holidays and pension scheme. This role is based in our modern teaching and research facilities on our Moulsecoomb campus.
