Teaching Assistant- Tunbridge Wells, Kent
We are hiring a Teaching Assistant to work in an inspiring co-educational prep school in Tunbridge Wells. This role will suit a Teaching Assistant whose personality effortlessly blends into the school's ethos of providing a friendly, supportive, secure environment where children are encouraged to make the most of every day.
No two days are the same as a Teaching Assistant as you spend time in the classroom supporting the Class Teacher deliver high quality lessons in stimulating indoor and outdoor learning spaces.
The ideal application will show evidence of resilience, teamwork, inclusion and a love of learning in their CV as these characteristics run through the school.
Responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant:
1. To work with groups of children and take responsibility for their learning
2. Motivate and encourage children to achieve and develop
3. To record progress of children through formal and informal assessment
4. To work with the SENCo and other teachers to develop and implement SEN provision
5. Supervise pupils around the school
6. Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the school
Essential qualities for this Teaching Assistant role:
7. Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification or desire to gain qualification
8. Experience in a primary education setting (employed or voluntary)
9. Ability to work in a thriving, fast-paced educational environment
10. Can-do attitude and a team player
11. To behave professionally and confidentially
12. A sense of humour!
Desirable qualities for this Teaching Assistant role:
13. Foundation degree in Education and/or Level 4 Teaching Assistant Qualification
14. First Aid trained
15. Experience in independent schools
16. Any other relevant training
