CONTRACT TYPE: Permanent or Fixed-term Project Contracts (3-12 months)
THE OPPORTUNITY: We're seeking experienced high-volume chefs for prestigious film productions across the UK. You'll be leading kitchen operations serving up to 500 crew members per service, delivering exceptional quality under high-pressure conditions.
SHIFT PATTERN: Typical day: 4am-4pm or 2pm-2am (varies by production) 5-6 days per week Extended hours during peak production periods Flexibility required for schedule changes
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Managing full kitchen operations for up to 500 covers per service Overseeing multiple daily service periods (breakfast, lunch, dinner) Menu planning and execution Stock control and ordering Leading and coordinating large kitchen teams Maintaining budgets and food costs Ensuring all H&S and food safety compliance Managing dietary requirements and allergens Coordinating with production teams for scheduling
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: Minimum 3 years' experience in high-volume catering Proven track record managing 300+ cover services Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate Strong leadership and team management skills Experience with mobile/temporary kitchen setups Physical stamina for long hours Excellent organizational abilities Strong communication skills Flexibility to travel and stay on location
DESIRABLE SKILLS: Previous film/TV catering experience Experience with international cuisines Cost control and budget management HACCP training First aid certification
