The Commissioning Engineer, reporting to the Commissioning Team Leader, is responsible for executing assigned commissioning tasks safely and effectively, in line with the commissioning process requirements. This role is specifically for candidates with experience in nuclear in-cell handler testing.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Execute arrangements for controlling, witnessing, recording, and assessing the results of commissioning tests that may affect safety.
2. Deliver the commissioning work scope according to an agreed strategy and plan in a timely and cost-effective manner.
3. Ensure a proactive and balanced approach to safety (nuclear, radiological, conventional, and environmental) to optimize safety during commissioning.
4. Review commissioning progress and performance, taking corrective actions when necessary.
5. Manage day-to-day liaison with personnel to obtain necessary permissions and minimize project impact.
6. Review commissioning test results.
7. Ensure integration of inputs from other project processes, such as design, HAZOP, risk management, contract, estimating, and knowledge management.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
8. Experience in commissioning nuclear mechanical systems.
9. Minimum qualification: HNC/HND in an Engineering-related subject or equivalent.
10. Experience in nuclear commissioning.
11. Knowledge of project management; APM membership preferred.
12. Proficiency in producing calculations using Excel.
Security Clearance
13. Ability to obtain BPSS and P4 Pass is essential for continuance in the role.
Design Tools / Software
14. Proficiency with the latest editions of Microsoft Office software.
