In collaboration with a 2 form entry, Kirkby-based Primary School, we are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child in Reception with Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) and Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD).

The Role
Provide tailored, 1:1 support to a child in Reception, helping them access the Early Years curriculum in a safe and nurturing environment.
Implement individualised strategies to manage and reduce challenging behaviours associated with PDA and ODD.
Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to adapt learning activities and interventions.
Promote positive interactions and emotional regulation, fostering a supportive and encouraging atmosphere for the child.About You
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who is:
Experienced in working with children with additional needs, particularly PDA and ODD.
Calm, patient, and skilled in building trust and strong relationships with young children.
Knowledgeable about behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques.
Able to work collaboratively as part of a team and communicate effectively with staff, parents, and external agencies.
