Local authority commercial property services have an immediate temporary need for an experienced Building Surveyor.
Working within Property Services, this role is entirely focused on planned capital works and refurbishment projects across the council property portfolio. Reporting in to Senior Management, you will attend update and progress meetings.
Job Duties:
As a Building Surveyor, you will be involved in inspecting defects and planning remedial works arising from these. Preparing scopes of works and budget costing of planned works and presenting these for consideration and approval. Organising and checking statutory compliance inspections across the authorities' buildings and then costing works along with arranging remedial works arising. Prepare specificationsSupervise works on site, manage and administer variations and budgets. Develop relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders. Undertake inspections, monitor and manage performance. Liaising with contractors and suppliers to problem-solve solutions to a wide variety of building projects from replacement doors grade 2 listed museum remedials.
What you'll need to succeed
A building Surveying qualification - HNC or Degree
Experience of ideally working in the public sector on non-housing projects
Refurbishment and maintenance Building Surveyor project experience
Knowledge of JCT form of contract
