Management Accountant - Bury St Edmunds - ARD1047311
Purpose of the Role
This exciting new hybrid opportunity has arisen to join our Finance team reporting to our Senior Management Accountant. You will undertake the preparation of monthly management accounts, consisting of the profit and loss and balance sheets in addition to the preparation of information for statutory accounts, audits and forecasting in line with the Group financial control framework and Group reporting timetable.
This role will require 2 or 3 days per week in the office in Bury St Edmunds.
What you will do
This is an overview and not an exhaustive list of responsibilities. Collaborating with your Line Manager, you will develop your own objectives with a focus on the following:
* Preparation of monthly management accounts including the profit and loss account, balance sheet and supporting commentary.
* Prepare monthly KPIs which support and complement the management accounts.
* Monthly preparation and management of the accruals and prepayments schedule and ensuring all accrued income is signed-off appropriately with supporting back-up.
* Understand and validate the profit and loss account, resolve queries from stakeholders and work with the Commercial Accountants and Finance Business Partners to analyse variances in both revenue and expenditures vs budget, forecasts and prior year actuals.
* Liaise with other finance departments within the Group to ensure accuracy of the management accounts.
* Monthly preparation of balance sheet reconciliations with supporting commentary for review by the Senior Management Accountant and Finance Managers.
* Preparation of year-end audit files and liaison with external auditors.
* Preparation of analysis of monthly payroll and FTE.
* Preparation of monthly exceptionals submissions.
* Preparation of monthly income reconciliations.
* Reconciliation of intercompany balances on a monthly basis and resolve any variances.
* Support the annual budget process and forecasting on both a profit & loss and cash basis.
* Fulfil your responsibilities in line with agreed processes to achieve agreed objectives and in doing so ensure compliance with the client and insurer money rules within the FCA Handbook.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for someone who has/is:
* Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or QBE
* Experience of IFRS, CASS, UK GAAP
* Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
* Experience in a broad range of general accounting functions including business and financial reporting
* A high level of expertise in analysing data leading to the close of business results in agreed reporting periods
