How you will contribute
You will use your considerable technical knowledge and expertise to identify, develop and create new business opportunities and to identify, define and solve complex business problems. As a leader on complex projects and/or scientific activities, you will organize, execute, and interpret assignments to yield outstanding results and impact business goals, and form multidisciplinary project teams to solve complex technical problems or to explore the use of technology to meet business goals. As a technical leader in your field, you will maintain your knowledge of developments inside and outside the company that are pertinent to the job through continuous education and training and take new research ideas and findings, and communicate and “sell” them to the organization for growth, quality or margin improvement. As a people leader, you will mentor and guide the work of junior team members and ensure the technical execution and quality of their work, and sponsor and champion external and internal research and fundamental knowledge building to influence future business development strategies.

What you need to know about this position:
This role is one of our senor technical experts leading R&D to achieve Mondelez's vision to be the Global Snacking Leader, winning in Chocolate, Biscuits & Baked Snacks.
·Senior member of our Technical Leadership Council,
oCoaching and developing the technical talent in the company
oLeveraging technical foresights to drive our technical agenda and technical excellence within the company.Includes supply chain resilience activities.
oLeads discovery level projects using scientific fundamentals to build our capability and make strong business decisions
oDriving excellence as a subject matter expert
·Drives our Mindful Snacking and nutrition agenda through the application of expertise in proteins and polymers as they relate to bioactivity, nutritional value, physicochemical/ functional/ organoleptic properties of foods
·Influence and execute programs against our Sustainability agenda thought a strong understanding of ingredient supply chains from farm to conversion, including process interaction during ingredient manufacture and during product conversion.Includes plant based and diary industries.
· Must maintain an external lens bringing in new opportunities and scientific approaches as well as engaging in both strategic pre-competitive and development opportunities to build competitive advantage

4. Molecular biology, Organic chemistry, biochemistry
5. Proteomics/ Protein Chemistry - Impact of the above unit operations: how do they transform the ingredient and its functional and consumer led contribution to the food matrix including nutritional contributions and metabolic pathways.
6. Sustainability via Cradle-to-factory-gate supply chain for significant ingredient clusters (e. g. where grown, where processed, vendor landscape, cost structure, supply opportunities and risks);
7. Production of the raw crops / agricultural aspects (where grown ? what drives characteristics / functionality / quality? sustainability aspects)
8. Unit operations in raw crop processing and how they transform / impact all aspects of functionality of the ingredient (namely thermal and mechanical unit operations)
9. Soft matter physics as far as they are relevant for food matrices including, e. g. concepts of multi-phase dispersed systems; state and phase transitions
10. Frequently used unit operations in ingredients and food manufacturing, e. g. milling, homogenization, drying, membrane separations, thermal treatments, mixing
11. Relations between ingredient functionality, product design, and consumer experience.

12. Technical rigor, e. g. hypothesizing, testing hypotheses
13. Future oriented mindset / methodologies (trend research, scenario analysis, extensive experience in strategy development)
14. Develop landscapes of complex topics (e. g. sustainability, emerging technologies) and socialize in a simple manner to drive decision making

16. Track record of landing technology / product in the business and / or in the market.
