We are looking to recruit an Automation Engineer, who will be among the senior staff during the set-up of the new R&D facility in Reading. This role plays a leading part in developing process control applications, making full use of PLCs, HMIs and SCADA systems. Responsibilities of the Automation Engineer: Have a leading role in the application of advanced automation principles. This includes the design, specification and validation of equipment and systems for projects of a compelling scope and complexity. Develop detailed specifications and engineering documents, including SOPs and operating standards. Take responsibility of the industry standard for batch control systems and software development life cycle methodologies. Process all change control request as per the already established processes. Take a lead in root cause analysis and troubleshooting activities relating to all things EC&I. Perform engineering assessments of new product or new technology introductions. Implement any system configuration changes where needed. Think outside the box on complex problems. Adapting or modifying technical principles. What we are looking for in the Automation Engineer: Relevant Electrical Engineering qualification. Experience in designing, installing and programming automated processes. Knowledge of ASTM 2500, S88 and S95. Excellent hands-on experience across packages such as SDS, URS IQ, OQ and VSR. Experience using ControlLogix PLC and Rockwell Automation Factory Talk. Previous experience developing strategies for NPI and NPD. Experience in process control and troubleshooting with unit operations.
