Solution47 Recruitment is looking for a Quantity Surveyor/Estimator for our client in Letchworth.
The role of a Quantity Surveyor is to carry out surveying duties on various residential sites, to include the preparation of budgets, estimates, and sub-contract enquiries, and the measurement and valuation of interim and final accounts.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Prepare tender and contract documents, as agreed with the Construction Director;
2. Prepare and analyse costings for tenders;
3. Chair pre-order meetings with sub-contractors and Site Teams;
4. Produce and issue orders for work to sub-contractors;
5. Prepare budgets for all aspects of project construction;
6. Value completed work and arrange payments;
7. Present monthly Cost variance performance to the Construction Director;
8. Make regular visits to sites to ensure costs are controlled, subcontractors are managed, and quality is upheld;
9. Pro-actively manage sub-contractor accounts;
10. Procure new sub-contractors for tender opportunities;
11. Perform cost control for risk and value management;
12. Identify, analyse, and develop responses to commercial risks;
13. Provide advice on contractual claims;
14. Undertake cost analysis for ad hoc repair and maintenance project work;
15. Support land acquisitions by providing cost information and risk analysis;
16. Analyse outcomes and write detailed progress reports;
17. Understand the implications of health and safety regulations;
18. Represent the company in a professional manner at all times;
19. Liaise with clients relating to Housing Association matters and attend their meetings;
20. Co-ordinate with the Sales Manager to ensure that appropriate support is given to achieving the company's sales targets;
21. Ensure that the delivery and maintenance of the show areas are given appropriate attention in accordance with the requirement of the Sales Manager.
