Behaviour Mentor
A primary school in Oldham are currently recruiting for a Behaviour Mentor to join them for June 2024. The role is to support a child with EBD and SEMH in Key Stage 1. The school believe that every child can succeed, and it is their responsibility to help each student overcome their learning and social barriers. They believe in the concept of lifelong learning and the notion that learning should be a rewarding and enjoyable experience for everyone; it should be fun!
This position will be working one to one with a child in Key Stage 1, the role can be very challenging and therefore someone with experience and confidence is essential. The child has been through a lot of past trauma so someone nurturing would be ideal, he also loves sport so it would be great to have a behaviour mentor that can share his passions! The position is to start as soon as possible however there can be flexibility if the successful applicant has a notice period.
The successful applicant will have:-
Experience of working one to one
Experience of working with SEMH and EBD children
Have Team Teach/Positive Handling training (or be willing to do the training)
Good interpersonal skills and be adaptable and resourceful when helping pupils with different needs and backgrounds to access the curriculum
