Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Analyst to join our team on a 12-month fixed term contract. The Environmental Analyst will be responsible for managing our in-house Building Energy Management System (BEMS) and bespoke Pet Automated Welfare System (PAWS), ensuring adherence to pet welfare guidelines and providing reactive support to our Facilities Helpdesk Team and colleagues across the Pets at Home estate. Additionally, this role involves sustaining energy reduction targets, managing external stakeholder relationships, coordinating waste management procedures, and supporting environmental compliance activities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage and optimise the Building Energy Management System and Pets at Home's bespoke software (Pet Automated Welfare System - PAWS).
2. Sustain energy reduction targets and associated savings.
3. Manage external contractor relationships related to the BEMS.
4. Act as the primary point of contact and escalation route for all BEMS queries from Facilities Helpdesk Teams.
5. Support the installation of BEMS upgrades at existing stores.
6. Research energy-saving projects and develop business cases for deployment.
7. Conduct store-level audits to identify energy, waste, and water-saving opportunities.
8. Track and analyse reports from energy management systems.
9. Raise and track project budgets via in-house software (SAP).
10. Support day-to-day management of Utility Bureau for Pets at Home and Pets at Home Vet Group.
11. Coordinate portfolio reports covering all utilities (electricity, gas, & water) by site.
12. Support contract negotiation for new suppliers.
13. Manage utility invoices and ensure all group sites are on correct contracts.
14. Support environmental compliance activities including ESOS, CCL, Packaging, Battery, WEEE Compliance.
15. Assist with data collection and validation for annual reports.
Key Experience
16. Strong interest and awareness of environmental issues.
17. Knowledge of environmental legislation and compliance.
18. Ability to work independently and in a team.
19. Excellent communication skills.
20. Proficiency in MS Office.
21. Valid driving license and willingness to travel within the UK.
22. Sound knowledge of computer software systems.
23. Experience in customer service and complaint handling.
24. Strong negotiating skills to ensure that the most cost-effective solution is adopted when liaising with suppliers.
