The role
As an Vehicle Mechanic Assessor - Coach, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. We play a vital role in the security of the nation by supporting the equipment used by the British Army. This includes the fleet management of over 50, vehicles, ranging from quad bikes and generators to main battle tanks, and weapons from pistols to cannons.
Day to day, you’ll visit Vehicle Mechanic learners within their workplace using your vocational experience and knowledge to deliver learning, coach, assess and support them to achieve their Apprenticeships.
1. Support, motivate and coach all learners through their apprenticeship programme, ensuring all components of the apprenticeship programme are completed in a timely manner whilst meeting awarding organisation, ESFA and Ofsted requirements
2. Monitor and review learners inline with the customers expectations
3. Ensure all required documentation is completed to the correct standard and within agreed timelines
4. Provide portfolio building advice and guidance to learners based on the requirements of their programme
5. Effectively record, plan and track individual learner progress in accordance with agreed paperwork and reporting processes
This role is full time, 35 weekly, and is fully remote. There is a requirement to travel to locations including but not limited to Folkstone, Maidstone, Southampton, Chichester, Aldershot, Windsor and Sandhurst 4 days per week.
Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met. Essential experience of the Vehicle Mechanic Assessor - Coach
6. Considerable experience in the vehicle mechanic field
7. Good understanding of work-based learning programmes
8. Previous experience in the defence sector, ideally within the army arena (desired not essential)
Qualifications of the Vehicle Mechanic Assessor - Coach
9. Relevant industry related qualification (Vehicle Mechanic minimum of Level 3)
10. Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (desirable)
11. Award / Certificate in Education & Training (or equivalent)
12. Maths and English – GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent)
