We are looking for a dynamic nurse to support an expansion of the clinical advisory team based alongside the community equipment service (Medequip). The primary focus for the posts will be to clinically review care home residents and their equipment to support effective use of the equipment service, manage care home long-term loan equipment and support development of community equipment prescription pathways.
Main duties of the job
As a member of the organisation, the post holder will work within the newly expanded clinical advisory team supporting the established Clinical Equipment advisor and the commissioning team managing the equipment services contract. The post holder will be able to independently manage their own caseload and have the opportunity to work at base and remotely depending on duties.
The role will primarily focus on clinically reviewing care home residents to ensure the equipment provided from the community equipment service is being used appropriately and is traceable.

Job description
This role is a newly established post for a 9 month secondment to support the established clinical equipment advisor. The community equipment service (Medequip) is managed by commissioning teams from North East and North Cumbria ICB, Durham County Council and Darlington Borough Council. The post holder will provide support to the established Clinical Equipment Advisor to provide clinical support to commissioning teams and equipment prescribers with the aim where appropriate and ensure right equipment at the right time for service users. The post holder will be aware of budget responsibilities and be involved in authorisation of equipment.
There is the opportunity to work flexibly with the post holder managing their own caseload. There is the requirement for the post holder to be able to travel anywhere within County Durham and Darlington to visit service users in their own home.
The post holder will support with audits and service reviews.
