Learning Disabilities – Support Worker
Nocturnal Recruitment are looking for experienced Support Workers with previous experience of working with Learning Disabilities, Mental Health, Sensory Impairments, Autism / ASD and Severe Challenging Behaviour both physical and verbal required for ongoing shifts across North and North West London. Personal care is a must as some clients are less able than others and need assistance.
You should be an effective communicator with a person-centred approach to your care delivery. Your role as a support worker will be supporting them in all aspects of life to help them achieve dreams and aspirations in all aspects of their life, they can display challenging behaviour at times so you must be experienced in providing care and support to individuals with Learning Difficulties, Mental Health Difficulties or Elderly Care. It would be beneficial if you have a good level of Learning Disability awareness and/or experience of managing Epilepsy.

Providing clients with day-to-day support including personal care

Motivating them and encouraging independence
*
Physically fit due to the need for safe moving & handling of residents, occasionally using equipment to assist you (e.g. hoists or wheelchairs) and you should therefore have up to date Moving & Handling training and experience of using hoists.

You will have a good knowledge of safeguarding and will understand the importance of maintaining appropriate boundaries and keeping up to date and detailed observation notes and updating of care plans. An intermediate level of computer literacy is required to support this.
Pay:

£15-17 per hour
Shift Patterns:
*
Able to work a fully flexible shift pattern – 7am – 2pm, 2pm – 9pm and long days
*
Possible night shifts in the near future
*
One weekend on, one weekend off
Job Requirements:
* Candidates must have a valid Adult/Children DBS certificate on the update service (registered online) or you must be able to do a new DBS
* Valid Right to work documents
* 1 year + experience as a Support Worker
NVQ Level 3 or above in Health and Social Care or equivalent (Desirable but not essential)
