All four of our partners (Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial, and BAM) bring specialist expertise in the design, construction, operation, financing, and maintenance of railway networks, including the construction of one of Europe’s latest high-speed rail projects.
We’re currently recruiting for a Structures Design Manager based in Milton Keynes.
In this role, you will manage all the Structures in all aspects of the design delivery; manage the design interface between the Construction team EKFB, the TW design, and HS2. You will also manage the TQs and EWN concerning the structures design and support the administration of the Design subcontract and the Main contract raising EWNs, TQs, and PMIs as appropriate in CEMAR. You will ensure that the constructability report developed by the Construction Team is aligned with the assumption of methodology and sequence of construction defined at the start of the design.
Part of this role is also to identify early warnings to mitigate risks, issues and enable the realization of opportunities and promptly escalate issues to the line manager. You will ensure that in delivering designs, all best practices are integrated into the project. You will manage change control, internal approvals through established processes and monitor and participate in the design review process.
You will interact with the Supply Chain to ensure Technical Queries and all other design-related issues are answered in a timely and efficient manner. In addition, you will actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) and support compliance with all organizational initiatives, policies, and procedures on EDI.

It is worth remembering that EKFB will undertake the relevant/standard employment checks if you are successful in the selection process. This includes taking up your references, as well as checking your ID, driving licence (if appropriate), and your right to work in the UK. NB: BPSS security clearance will be required (to be undertaken as part of the onboarding process).
About You
* Degree level qualification in civil engineering or the equivalent experience.
* Extensive experience in Bridge Design coordination.
* Knowledge of HS2 act, Civil Engineering regulations (e.g., Eurocodes 2, British Standards).
* Knowledge of the CDM Principal Designer role.
* Excellent communication skills.
