As the Admin Manager for Cancer Services, you will be responsible for providing direct line management to the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) Coordinator team, including training and cover during times of annual leave. You will lead on training for the MDTC team and wider team within the Trust on the Somerset Cancer Register (SCR).
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for supporting CWT monitoring and reporting of internal and external CWT standards. You will provide leadership and operational management skills to support the MDTC team, escalating to the Assistant Cancer Performance Manager where appropriate and deputising for them.
You will line manage, develop and support the MDTC, while also leading on improving the efficiency and quality of administrative processes and the smooth running of all administrative processes working closely with non-clinical and clinical teams at all times.
You will strive for excellence in supporting patients through their cancer pathway, playing a key role in planning, organising and developing systems and processes. You will actively support the corporate cancer team.
Overseeing the MDTC team and service provision, Data quality and cancer performance monitoring will be key elements of this role.
This is a fixed term role for 12 months.

Job responsibilities
9. Direct line management of the MDTC team for cancer services .
10. To provide cover for MDT meetings ensuring all relevant patients and supporting information is available to the team to aid cancer pathway decision making and document outcomes during the meeting.
11. Ensure all appraisals, PDPs and training are agreed and in place for teams.
12. Provide expert knowledge and support to cancer teams, operational managers and Trust groups and committees.
13. To create, update and monitor accurate patient records on the Trust cancer register (SCR) in accordance with the National Cancer Waiting Times (CWT) manual and Cancer Outcomes and Services Dataset (COSD) requirements.
Specific Projects
14. Ensure the Trust delivers accurate CWT data to the SCR prior to deadline.
15. Work with the corporate cancer team, cancer registry teams, ensuring that expectations are managed, and deadlines are met.
16. Work with the corporate cancer team to develop and deploy a refreshed standards and expectations for the MDTC team.
Communication
17. Utilise high level communication skills including influencing, persuasion and personal impact skills, to support teams in achieving high standards of accuracy and adherence to national and local quality standards and service guidelines.
18. Support the corporate cancer team and relevant clinical and managerial staff across the Trust to ensure they fully understand the importance of CWT.
19. Work closely on a day-to-day basis with MDT coordinators, data collectors and analysts, and operational managers to ensure quality and timeliness of cancer data and patient tracking.
20. Advise operational managers in the development of effective and efficient cancer data collection and reporting in line with the requirements of Trust contract performance targets.
21. Communicate with the MDTC team, ensuring that all are aware and updated regularly regarding cancer services activities and CWT.
Planning and Organisation
22. Provide expertise in current patient pathways to support pathway reviews.
23. Actively support and promote for cancer informatics development.
24. Responsible for working with the performance manager for cancer services to ensure all NHS digital uploads are completed.
25. Responsible for the monitoring, reporting any deviation to operational performance manager.
26. To lead on developing projects as agreed.

27. To support the corporate cancer team in the effective management of identified budgets to best deliver the access, activity, finance and quality targets.
28. To be responsible for ensuring value for money within the Department, reviewing the skill mix, balance and deployment of all types of resource.
