Summary
My high-profile Utilities client is looking for a MSP Planner to join their team based at their Warwick offices (2 days a month on site) on an initial 3-month contract with chance of extensions. Are you an experienced project planner looking for an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact? Our client, a leader in the utilities industry, is seeking a skilled MSP Project Planner to join their team and support a high-visibility, complex programme. In this role, you will have the chance to work with a dynamic team and contribute to the strategic network investment plan for the GB transmission network, ultimately helping to achieve the government's net zero ambitions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop, integrate, and manage project and programme plans in MSP.
2. Use your expertise in project planning principles to ensure successful project execution.
3. Utilise various planning tools, such as Microsoft Project and POL, to manage complex programme plans.
4. Collaborate with Workstream Leads, PMO Lead, and subject matter experts to further develop and refine plans.
5. Set up and maintain project structures for seamless execution.
6. Monitor and track variances and change control.
7. Create visual reports to communicate project progress and critical information to stakeholders.
8. Provide guidance and advice to ensure appropriate planning approaches, tools, and processes are used.
9. Review project progress data, including schedules, resources, and costs, to inform decision-making.
10. Identify future project capacity and capability needs and work with the team to develop strategies.
11. Prioritise workload and manage conflicting demands.
Qualifications:
1. Demonstrated experience in managing complex programme plans.
2. Proficiency in planning tools such as Microsoft Project and POL.
3. Strong understanding of project planning principles and methodologies.
4. Excellent communication skills and ability to foster collaborative working relationships.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
6. Attention to detail and the ability to ensure accuracy and quality of project data and reports.
