Clearfield Recruitment is currently recruiting on behalf of its client, a well-established Groundworks and Civils Contractor operating in Suffolk and the East Anglia region. With an increased order book for 2024, they are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join their team.
The Contracts Manager will be responsible for appointing and monitoring sub-contractors and directly employed staff, working on a range of project values from standard £50k projects to £5m complex schemes, managing project documentation, working to best practice and company standards, attending and representing the company at project meetings, and working alongside the operational and commercial teams to maximise opportunities and minimise risks to achieve the best possible project costs. They will also engage with clients to understand their needs, resolve queries, provide confidence in the company approach, and confirm understanding of construction methods, and ensure proper handover of the projects to the client in accordance with company standards and procedures.
The company specialises not only in commercial but also in residential groundworks. The ideal candidate for this role will have groundworks experience, excellent leadership skills, and a professional nature. They must have SMSTS or IOSH Equivalent Health and Safety Certification, competency in the use of Microsoft Project or similar Programming Software, as well as the wider Office suite. Supplementary qualifications such as Temporary Works Coordinator, Appointed Person, Streetworks Supervisor, and the like would be beneficial, but the right candidate training can be provided.
