At OCU Opals we have a new opportunity for anInventory & Stock Controllerto join our Team in ourteam.
The Inventory and Stock Controller isresponsible for managing monitoring and controlling all inventorylevels and stock movements within the company. This role will playa critical part in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow ofmaterials parts and equipment required for telecom engineeringprojects including fibre build and civil engineering. The Inventoryand Stock Controller will work closely with procurement projectmanagers warehouse staff and suppliers to maintain accurate recordsand optimise stock levels minimising waste and reducing projectdelays.
Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate records of all stock and inventory levelsensuring systems are updated and discrepancies are promptlyaddressed.
Oversee daily stock movements bothincoming and outgoing to ensure adequate levels are maintained forongoing and upcoming projects.
Collaborate withproject and procurement teams to forecast material needs planrestocking schedules and reduce excess or outdatedinventory.
Place orders for materials equipmentand consumables based on established stock levels and projectedneeds in line with budgetary guidelines.
Overseethe receipt of all goods and materials ensuring quality standardsare met and quantities are accurately recorded. Report any damagesor discrepancies immediately.
Liaise withsuppliers to confirm delivery schedules resolve supply issues andaddress quality or quantity concerns.
Ensurethat all stock handling processes comply with company safetystandards and industry regulations and that materials are storedsecurely and safely.
Conduct periodic inventorycounts and audits to verify stock accuracy manage discrepancies andupdate records accordingly.
Identify andimplement opportunities for inventory process improvements workingtowards lean operations and waste reduction.
Prepare and present inventory reports to management highlightingkey metrics trends and potential issues that may impact projecttimelines.
Skills& Experience:
* At least 2 years in inventory or stock control ideallywithin telecom engineering construction or a relatedindustry.
* Excellent verbal and writtencommunication skills with the ability to collaborate effectivelywith crossfunctional teams.
* High attention todetail to ensure accuracy in records and minimize stockdiscrepancies.
