ROLE SUMMARY:
Hilden Grange is a co-educational preparatory day school for children aged 3-13 years. We have a thriving community and pride ourselves on our friendly atmosphere, outstanding teaching, impressive examination success, thriving sports and vibrant extra-curricular activities.
Our children are encouraged and given every opportunity to develop enquiring minds and self reliance. Our excellent teaching staff teach their specialist subjects in small classes and are expert at motivating and stimulating their pupils.
The school has access to more than twenty acres of attractive grounds, on the northern fringe of Tonbridge, Kent.
We are looking to recruit a Games Coach to teach Girls' games throughout the year groups. This is a sessional role, hours to be determined but is likely to cover most afternoons from 1pm to 5pm.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To teach Girls’ games throughout the year groups in accordance with the department’s schemes of work, programmes of study and policies of best practice
2. To be involved in school fixtures as a coach and/or referee at home and away venues
3. To drive the school minibuses, as and when required
4. To encourage and promote fair play and sporting conduct at all times
5. To encourage and promote the girls’ interest in and enjoyment of games at all levels
6. To attend regular departmental meetings, full staff meetings and staff training sessions, when required
7. To attend INSET courses as appropriate and necessary
8. To carry out regular staff duties on a rota basis
9. To play a full and active role in the pastoral, extra curricular and social activities of the school
10. To assist Games staff to deliver the Games curriculum to Years N – 8
11. Assist the Head of Girls’ Games in the organisation of fixtures and managing teams
12. Help co-ordinate match days in terms of ensuring players are where they should be and with the correct kit
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
Experience –
13. Experience of working in a similar role
14. Experience of working in a school environment would be desirable
Skills –
15. Good IT skills
16. Good interpersonal skills
17. A clean driving license, preferably D1 or above
Personal competencies & Qualities -
18. Evidence of being a strong team member
19. Enthusiasm and a positive outlook
20. An ability to work independently and as part of a team when required
