Senior Health & Safety Manager – Salary circa £70,000

The successful individual would be responsible for leading and managing the health and safety function across the organisation, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, and fostering a culture of safety. This role requires strong communication skills to engage with executive leadership and influence strategic decision-making.
A bit about the job:
Day to day duties would include developing and implementing the organisation's health and safety strategy, providing expert advice to the executive team on health and safety matters and influencing and contributing to the development of organisational policies and procedures.
You will also ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation and standards and conduct regular audits and risk assessments, whilst developing and maintaining health and safety management systems.
You will design and deliver health and safety training programs, mentor and support health and safety staff and promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional development, as well as prepare and present detailed reports to the executive team.
The position holder will be required to communicate health and safety performance and initiatives across the organisation, act as the primary point of contact for health and safety matters with external stakeholders, lead investigations into health and safety incidents, develop and implement corrective actions and monitor and report on incident trends and statistics.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
1. NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification in health and safety is essential. Chartered Member of IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) is preferred.
2. Extensive experience in a senior health and safety role and experience in developing and implementing health and safety strategies.
3. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with strong leadership and management abilities and a proven track record of influencing at executive level.
4. Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure whilst manage multiple priorities.
5. Proactive and self-motivated, with strong attention to detail.

6. Starting salary circa £70,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
7. Bonus opportunity - 12% of annual salary Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
