Job summary
Transplant Nurse
We are looking for a full-time band 6 Renal transplant nurse to join the Renal home therapies team based at the Royal Berks. The post holder will be caring for a cohort of patients that are either pre transplantation or post repatriation after Transplantation at Oxford. The role requires the candidate to be forward thinking, calm, have the ability to work autonomously or as part of the wider renal Home Therapies and renal team. Ideally a car driver so the candidate can take the service off- site and across East & West Berkshire. The candidate must have transplant experience or at least 2 years working in a renal speciality. There is an expectation that the post holder will work across the Renal Home therapies as the patients' needs require. Clinical skills such as venepuncture & cannulation are essential to this role, training will be provided if the successful candidate does not have these skills or transplant experience.

The transplant nurse role is autonomous,nurse-led
The Transplant nurse will work as a skilled practitioner and is responsible for the delivery of patient -focused of care.
Addressing the complex and changing health and well-being needs of the client group in his/ her caseload.
The post holder provides clinical leadership to nursing and support staff.

Education/ Qualifications/ Training:
Essential
1. Registered Nurse ( Pt 1/12) (RSCN (Pt 8) if appropriate)
2. ENB 998/ Slice, C&G 730 or equivalent
3. Renal Course / ENB 136 or equivalent
4. Evidence of Leadership, management and speciality development
Experience:
Essential
5. 3 years post qualification
6. Must have recent clinical experience in related speciality area.
7. Experience in mentoring/ facilitation/ teaching/ assessing/ coaching
8. Experience of leadership/ management and speciality development.
Desirable
9. Experience of involvement in successful change management
Communication

10. Excellent personal and communication skills.
11. Demonstrable transformational leadership ability
12. Ability to facilitate and support learning in practice
