Research Fellow in Organ-On-A-Chip Disease Modelling
12 month fixed term contract
£31,607 - £36,371 per annum (pro rata)
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Research Fellow to join our interdisciplinary team focused on advancing Organ-on-a-Chip technology for disease modelling. This role involves designing, optimising, and validating microphysiological systems that replicate human organ functions, helping to study disease mechanisms, drug responses, and tissue interactions. The ultimate goal is to contribute to the development of personalised medicine.
As a Research Fellow, you will work closely with experts in biology, engineering and materials science, to develop reliable in-vitro disease modelling platforms. You will lead efforts to generate experimental data, integrate findings across disciplines, and refine models to accurately mimic disease conditions. Candidates with a background in cell biology, bioengineering, or pharmacology, and experience in tissue culture, microfluidics, and disease modelling are encouraged to apply.
The role also includes commercial engagement, collaborating with industry partners to translate research into commercial products and therapies. You will work with pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, and regulatory agencies to ensure that the models meet industry standards. Additionally, you will have opportunities to present research at conferences, publish in top journals, and contribute to grant proposals.
This position is ideal for a candidate passionate about innovation in biomedical science and technology. Strong problem-solving, communication skills, and the ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment are essential.
For more details, please take a look at the role profile. We'll still consider applications even if you don't meet every single one of the requirements, so don't be put off if you don't match them perfectly.
Interview Date :Thursday 5th December 2024
