An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join the Purchasing & Supply Team to oversee activities related to Diomed supplier management; optimising performance, cost and quality, and establishing shared KPIs and mutual goals. The role will be based at our Warehousing & Distribution Centre at Kempston.
Key responsibilities:
1. Be a key contact for in house and third-party manufacturers, driving change projects to deliver improvements to service, quality, and efficiency.
2. Collaborate with the wider Purchasing and Supply team to optimise cost, relationship, product specification and performance value across the entire supplier base, whilst providing support to analyse and reduce risk.
3. Develop and own supplier KPIs, evaluating quality, OTIF, pricing and customer service.
4. Work with purchasing managers to analyse the current supplier base and identify opportunities for service improvement, savings, and rationalisation.
5. Improve internal working practises to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
6. Implement and manage supplier risk management processes including contingency plans and alternative supplier options.
7. Plan and develop a rolling portfolio of supplier improvement projects.
8. Engage with stakeholders, internal and external to ensure projects are delivered to plan, time, and benefit.
9. Monitor improvements after execution and report on efficacy and results.
10. Work towards reducing the environmental impact of the business in partnership with suppliers with regard to the circular economy.
You should ideally have the following attributes:
1. Previous experience of working with suppliers to achieve positive results within a regulated environment, ideally Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices.
2. Proven experience of delivering/developing sustainable and measurable improvement in efficiency.
3. Exceptional attention to detail to ensure all necessary points have been considered, addressed, and recorded.
4. Collaborative skills to work closely with senior managers and cross functional teams.
5. Personable and adaptable, including ability to influence, motivate and empathise with a wide variety of people.
6. Passionate and enthusiastic, with the ability to make a major impact.
7. Flexible and able to use own initiative.
8. Experience using ERP systems.
9. Use of MS Project or similar tool to deliver projects on time and in budget, bringing all stakeholders along the journey.
10. Good written and verbal communication skills with solid reporting skills throughout the course of a project.
11. Sound knowledge of MS Office packages, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
