Specialist Domestic Abuse Advice Line Worker

About Us:
Peterborough Women’s Aid was formed in 1975. The organisation has grown since that time providing not only safe and secure accommodation to women and children escaping domestic abuse, but also provides specific an Advice Line Services and Outreach.
\n
We currently have an opportunity for a Specialist Domestic Abuse Advice Line Worker to join Peterborough Women’s Aid.
\n
You will make the first contact with medium risk victims of domestic abuse, and will ensure the victims safety through safety planning, risk assessment and appropriate referrals.
\n
You will also work closely within a team in a fast-paced environment making quick informed decisions to ensure the safety of victims of domestic abuse.
\n
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

* To make first contact calls to medium risk victims of domestic abuse in line with the Peterborough Women’s Aid Case Management Policy.
\n
* To support victims in a trauma informed way
\n
* Provide emotional and practical support to victims of domestic abuse
\n
* To signpost victims to appropriate partner agencies and local resources
\n
* To record all interactions with victims on the PWA database
\n
* To identify safeguarding concerns and highlight to the appropriate Designated Safeguarding Lead.
\n
* To take a multi-agency approach to supporting victims and work closely with staff and the victim and witness hub.
\n
